I made this last night & my family & I absolutely love it. It is definitely one of my top favorites & I look forward to making it again.

I used: 3 cups of penne pasta, added a small can of diced tomatoes, just half a big onion, mozzarella cheese instead of cheddar. First I sauteed the onion and mushrooms with 2 tbsp olive oil and 1 tsp of minced garlic. Then I added the meat (I used 1 lb. extra lean ground beef because I didn't wanted to drain fat). I added the Italian seasoning to the meat while browning. When the beef was brown, I added the jar of spaghetti sauce, a small can of diced tomatoes and the bacon bits. I stirred and let it simmer in low heat for awhile. Then mixed it with the penne pasta (I used 3 cups, instead of 4) on the baking dish and topped with lots of Mozzarella cheese, 'cause my family likes it cheesy! Very tasty. I will be making this again. :)

I like my pastas with a little more meat, so I put in 1.5 lb. of meat and 1.5 jars of sauce. Other wise, GREAT recipe!

i thought this was good i did switch it up a bit didnt use the sausage, added more bacon bits (the whole bag), put it in layers in the pan, altogether it was really awsome served with salad and garlic bread everyone loved it. i would definately make this again.

I did make this the other nite...the next time I make it I will only put in 3 cups of noodles and add more spg. sauce...We all thought it was a little dry but enjoyed it other than that...I also added a can of diced tomatoes...

A good hearty dish. Next time I make it I'll probably add some green pepper. Altogether a great dish!

I have been making this recipe for a couple of years now. I too use mozzarella only. Everyone loves it.
