I didn't think this recipe was bad. However, my husband and sons thought it was terrible. The end result did not look like the picture. When they sat down to the table, they had very skeptical faces. That didn't change much as they tasted it. I will not be making this one again.

Loved it! I modified this recipe by adding canned green chile to the ground beef, and some roasted corn kernels to the cornbread-Everyone loved it-I served the leftovers to some early Thanksgiving guests- so they wouldnt be starving...It got rave reviews again. Will try with ground turkey next time. Thank you!

I made this for my family and they loved it. I have given the recipe out to several family members.

Like others, I too had a really hard time getting the topping to cook all the way through. It is a delicious recipe and I'll tweak it one more time to see what happens. I may just make cornbread "dollops" on the side and serve it with the filling.

GREAT flavor!! Used ground turker instead f beef. Added diced tomatoes for some more umph. Was a little runny, not sure how to fix this

What a great concept -- chili with a baked cornbread topping! :) My husband said this is in the top 5 of recipes I've ever made & we've been married for 6 years. I did make a couple changes which I would recommend! I used chili beans instead of black, fresh garlic (instead of powder) and added 1tsp dried southwest montreal seasoning (in addition to cumin). Side note - if you make as is - use an 8 x 8 with same amount of ingredients and only 1 cup cheese! Its perfect for 4 servings. I

This recipe was a surprise hit in my home. When it first came out of the oven I thought "oh no, won't be making this again". it seemed soupy at first. But my family went crazy over it. I doubled the recipe for a large family by adding another lb of ground beef, black olives, leaving out the pepper, and adding another can of beans. This was a crowd pleaser. No left overs in sight.

It was a little soupy but better the longer it sat, like chili. Cornbread amount was just enough.

Easy, but I didn't read the part where you add the cheese to muffin mix, so the top was hard, will make again and not make this mistake
