As good as it sounds—a bacon cheeseburger in easy casserole form! Instead of fries on the side, you get golden brown potato nuggets on top.

I made this last night. I added a couple extra pieces of bacon and didn't completely mix the ketchup and mustard together. I may have added a bit more of each as well since I just kinda squeezed it in without measuring. I thought it had plenty of flavor. I'll definitely make this again.
I gave it 5 stars only because I read reviews prior to making and adjusted the ingredients and directions to keep it from drying out or being greasy. I used Lawry's Seasoning and Black pepper in the beef. I served mustard, fried onions on side along with extra cheese, lettuce, diced tomato, pickles. Turned out perfect for our taste. I pre-cooked potato tots for 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Cook individually in same pan to add flavor to recipe, fry bacon first remove place on paper towel. Drain most fat from pan add onions cook till slightly crispy brown remove place on paper towel. Brown ground beef in pan, remove and drain beef well in strainer. I doubled ketchup and omitted mustard but served on side. Mixed 1/3 cup ketchup and 1/2 cup cheese in beef. Placed beef in casserole, spread other 1/3 cup of ketchup on top of beef, then layer bacon (onions next or serve on side) then layer remainder of cheese. I did this recipe but I did sloppy Joes mix instead, My kids ask for this all the time!! I double the batch, and sometimes I prepare this and freeze it for a later time!!
I doubled the recipe and my entire family loved it! It was simple enough for my non-cooking husband to finish up for me.

This was easy to make but lacked flavor. Will probably try using barbecue sauce instead of ketchup and mustard.
This is just so so
I've made this recipe a few times now. I doubled the amount of sharp Cheddar and used maybe 5 cups of Tater Tots. I let it rest for about 5 mins and then drizzled a mixture of 1/2 cup home made mayo and 1/4 cup ketchup over the potatoes then topped it with 1 large tomato chopped, some shredded Romaine. It tastes like a bacon cheese burger with fries minus the bun. However it makes 4 realistic size portions not 8.
Love the tang of the mustard. Makes a nice change from typical tater tot casserole. Anyone up for trying it with barbecue sauce instead of ketchup and mustard?
