very easy to make. needed double the beans and half the onion and chicken broth. agree about needing more spice. I used 3 lbs pork tenderloin, waaaay too much pork. this recipe needs a lot of tweaking.
Thankfully I read reviews first, but it was still bad. 1 can of broth = still too much, very thin. 2 cans of beans = skimpy beans. I added an extra can of beans and it was still lacking. Also, barely any flavor. Needed a ton more spice! :( Was this recipe even tested?!
Needs more flavor, spice.
I had never used pork in chili before, so I was surprised at how good it was! I used a pork lion roast to maybe reduce the fat (?) and chopped up a pepper to add to it. I was also surpised at how much it made, so I froze some to eat latter. This is a great recipe!
As a recipe for pulled pork - this was good, as a recipe for chili - we thought it was terrible. What we ended up with was a large pot of pork with a few beans and some thin broth. It was also very plain tasting so we had to add a lot of extra seasoning in the end. I definetly will not make this again.
Next time I will add a can of Rotel, some garlic and either cayanne or red pepper flakes. I also thought it was a bit runny so I will replace one can of the chicken stock with a can of tomato sauce. other than the additions, this was very easy to make and tastes good!
I thought the flavors were good. I didn't add as much chicken stock as requested and I added an extra can of kidney beans. It still had a little to much meat for my liking but my boyfriend loved it.
I like my chili to be a little thick, so I used one pound of extra pork and only one can of chicken broth. It was so-so by itself, but poured over a scoop of mashed potatoes and YUM! Very easy recipe and reheated well.
had to add more spices, very thin broth, added cilantro and more chili spice. Not enough beans
sorry, but this recipe was "just ok" for my family. probably would not make it again
