Great recipe to make your own granola bars without any added chemicals/preservatives (other than what's already in the cereal and other ingredients). The base of this recipe is fantastic & you can basically choose your mix ins. We made this with walnuts and mini chocolate chips! I also think it would be good with coconut, dried fruit, flax seed, whatever you like!

Loved these granola bars! I followed the advice of others and chopped up the nuts and pressed the mixture in the pan extra firmly. They held together just fine. I did add craisins as well and really liked that addition.

I used peter pan pb (whipped) with raisins, pecans, then I mixed rice krispies and fiber one cereal as my base. I basically used what I had in the house and it came out delicious! Thanks for the idea

Wonderful, after school snack for the kids. They loved them! I listened to the other reviewers that mentioned the bar not sticking together, so I chopped the nuts very small and pressed the mixture very, very firmly into the pan. That seemed to solve the problem. Will make again with chocolate chips, but will cut down on sugar so they won't be so sweet.

These are so easy and so very good. I put both nuts and dried berries in - but chopped both first. My daughter requests these quite often.

This recipes is very good as far as taste combination, but I have the same complaint as shelli2892. Im not sure if the recipe ingredient amount is correct. My bars look much drier then the ones in the picture and did not hold together well. Next time I think I will increase the wet ingredients.

My family really liked these bars and they are very easy to make. Was a little disappointed that they didn't stick together very well. Will probably chop up the nuts into smaller pieces next time. I think that will help them to stick together better. Great after school snack!
