I made it for Thanksgiving with my usual apple pie. My apple pie always goes quickly...and this year no one had any apple pie and everyone had this cake! I was asked to make for Christmas. Definitely will make again.

Made this several times and have made a few changes to make it meet our needs. We added fresh raspberries instead of adding the chocolate "twisties" on top and around the sides. I have yet to make it smooth and perfect like the picture, but practice makes perfect! Will make this cake over and over again!!

This cake takes some time to make, but it's so gorgeous, its well worth the effort. It made a beautiful centerpiece on the dessert table. All the chocolate lovers oohed and ahhed. It's so rich that I wouldn't recommend serving it to kids, it's more rich than sweet.

I made this for our Christmas dinner and it turned out to be great! I ended up only doing two layers because I didn't trust my skills to cut the two cakes in half. The only slight issue I ran into was getting the chocolate to really drip down the sides on its own after pouring on top. But I just spooned some closer to the edges where I felt it was missing and I still got the look I was going for. Cake was dense & delicious; white icing was awesome and my favorite part was the chocolate layer on top that gave it the perfect richness. I will definitely be making this again soon!

This cake is awesome! My family loved it and ask for it. I didn't use a mix, but a scratch recipe. The cream cheese icing is a wonderful topping for the chocolate.

Wow! I am surprised to read some of these negative reviews! This cake was so easy to make and was dee-LISH! I agree that the frosting was a bit sweet, given the amount of powdered sugar, but that can be adjusted. As to the reviewer that had her frosting turn out "tan", if you use clear vanilla instead of traditional brown, your icings will be pure white. Also, I added 4 oz. melted white chocolate to my icing and topped the cake with fresh strawberries to garnish. It was a HIT for my moms 80th birthday! Will definately do this one again!

It was de-licious. When people came to my house, many people said they were also going to make it. Some people asked if it was a show-piece. i said, no. And they were all suprised!!!!!!!!!
