What You Need

1/4

cup butter or margarine, divided

1/4

cup flour

cup milk

1/2

lb. (8 oz.) VELVEETA®, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

cups elbow macaroni, cooked

1/2

cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese

RITZ Crackers, crushed (about 1/4 cup)

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

MELT 3 Tbsp. butter in medium saucepan on medium heat. Whisk in flour; cook 2 min., stirring constantly. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to boil; cook and stir 3 to 5 min. or until thickened. Add VELVEETA; cook 3 min. or until melted, stirring frequently. Stir in macaroni.

SPOON into 2-qt. casserole sprayed with cooking spray; sprinkle with Cheddar. Melt remaining butter; toss with cracker crumbs. Sprinkle over casserole.

BAKE 20 min. or until heated through.

I have made this recipe twice now,everybody loves it. I added some Parmesan and oregano to the Ritz crackers.

I've tested several homemade mac & cheese recipes that I've found online and this by far is THE BEST. It was quick & easy. The one thing I did different is I used a colby/cheddar blend for the topping since I was out of regular cheddar.

The white sauce was too thick. Needs to have another cup of milk in it.

I made this for Christmas dinner & it was very dry. I was told to add condensed milk instead of reg milk. But I'll stick to the Kraft Velveeta box mas & cheese.

Was tired of bringing the mashed potatoes for Xmas dinner. Made this recipe instead. I doubled everything and baked in a 9 1/2 by 13 baking dish. Everyone loved it and took some home. There wasn't any left for for me!!!!

My mother made the best mac & cheese and this is almost the same recipe except she put slices of cheese on the top and so did I - it was wonderful. Even my young granddaughter loved it.

Made this for family Christmas party. Everyone loved it. Very easy to make with a great creamy, cheesey texture. I will make this again.
