What You Need

1/4

cup butter or margarine, divided

1/4

cup flour

cup milk

1/2

lb. (8 oz.) VELVEETA®, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

cups elbow macaroni, cooked

1/2

cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese

RITZ Crackers, crushed (about 1/4 cup)

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

MELT 3 Tbsp. butter in medium saucepan on medium heat. Whisk in flour; cook 2 min., stirring constantly. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to boil; cook and stir 3 to 5 min. or until thickened. Add VELVEETA; cook 3 min. or until melted, stirring frequently. Stir in macaroni.

SPOON into 2-qt. casserole sprayed with cooking spray; sprinkle with Cheddar. Melt remaining butter; toss with cracker crumbs. Sprinkle over casserole.

BAKE 20 min. or until heated through.

I made this when my Grandkids came for Thanksgiving. They said it was the best "Mac & Cheese" they had ever eaten.

Just about the way my grandma made it except some squares of cheese on top and not the crumbs. But really good!

I really love this dish because it is perfect comfort food. The recipe has a lot of cheese flavor and I love the crunchy Ritz topping. This is sure to please everyone in the family.

I added a tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce and a teaspoon of dry mustard to the milk.. Added a really nice flavor!

This would be great with a layor of sliced tomoatoe on top instead of the crackers.

I thought this was great. I liked the cracker crumbs on top and would probably add more next time. It was really creamy as well and very simple to make.

it was absolutely DELICIOUS and just the right consistency. I have been looking for that fabulous mac and cheese recipe for years and have tried several. This is definitely #1...

Made receipt without the crackers because I didn't have any on hand. It was great - maybe next time I'll include the crackers.
