Was a huge hit at a pool party yesterday. Store did not have cole slaw dressing, so I substituted 3/4 cup light ranch dressing.

I had this recipe at a company picnic over the summer and small bacon pieces were added to it. It was wonderful this way. I have been searching for the recipe since then!

I love this salad. My mother in law made this for the huge family Christmas dinner and I loved it so much, I took home leftovers!

I always add a few slices of cooked and drained bacon, crumbled to this recipe, about a 1/4c finely chopped red onion, and use a combo of the salad dressing and mayonnaise/miracle whip.Sometimes even some grated cheddar. There are never any leftovers! I also make this recipe substituting thawed green peas in winter-no kidding! and it turns out equally good! (I don't add the raisins or cheese though)

I have a similar recipe just the dressing is different. Mine is with Miracle Whip, sugar, and vinegar.
