I also wanted to add that I do not add sunflower seeds, I subsitute with cashews. Much better the second day after it sits. I used to make a homemade dressing, but the light slaw dressing works just as good!
very easy and delicous
This is a great summertime salad recipe. Quick and easy.
I make this recipe a little different. I use golden raisins instead of regular, and I make the dressing with mayo, sugar, and apple cider vinegar. I also use chopped scallions instead of red onion. Last time I made this for a party, it was the first thing gone! I love this salad!
I loved this! I did not add sunflower seeds, and I used a homemade dressing of light mayo, vinegar and sugar. It was really tasty - sweet and crunchy with a bit of salt. I add shredded fat free cheddar on a serving (rather than mix it in). I will be making this all summer! So nice to find a salad that's a little bit different.
I added a bag of shredded colby-jack cheese. Everyone raved about it!
Just like the one my great grandma used to make. Yummy!
This has become a favorite of my friends and family. I have made it for years and always get requests for the recipe. Tip: I like to toss the broccoli, dressing and onion together and refrigerate it a few hours or overnight (the flavors really come together). Then I toss the bacon, raisins and sunflower seeds in at the last minute so they stay crunchy.
I made this for my in-laws and family and they could not stop eating it!! It was so easy to make and tasted outstanding. I added a little bit of sugar at the end just to give it some sweetness. This is definetly going to be a frequent recipe at my house!!
Wonderfully refreshing salad that won't easily go limp when taking to summer cookouts. Healthy! Can sub turkey bacon or bacon bits if desired.
