Crack up 3-4 bars of either Skor or Heath bars, and sprinkle on top of the pudding mixture layer. My guests raved about this little surprise. (I also ran out of Cool Whip for the top and had to open a second container. Just so you know, the 8 oz (by weight) container is a 4 cup container right to the top. So, if you save about 1/4 of the container for the topping, you might make it. I think I probably used more than 3 cups in the pudding mixture, and that is why I ran short for the topping.)

Delicious and easy! Great for patriotic parties. For a more festive trifle I add red, white and blue sprinkles or sugar crystals. I would probably make it again.

This is a superb Trifle and I received many compliments on taste and presentation. I agree with bananasmom that 8 oz of Cool Whip is not enough for this recipe. As of the date I am rating this recipe, I am surprised that only myself & one other person noted the lack of Cool Whip to place on top of the Trifle. The top of my Trifle did not look like the photo you see on the website. The photo looks as if a full 8 oz tub of Cool Whip is on the top of the Trifle. I decorated the top with whole strawberries and a sprig of mint to make it look more presentable. I will make this again and simply use more Cool Whip. Don't be discouraged by my comments, I am rating this 5 star.

I really loved this cake, BUT, I felt that an 8 oz tub of Cool Whip wasn't enough. 3 C (stirred into the pudding) was about 3/4 of the tub, and it didn't leave much at all for spreading on the top.

Fantastic low fat dessert, easy to make and so pretty too! You know it's a success when teenagers ask you to make it for their parties! Try adding banana slices dipped in lemon juice for a fun twist.
