I made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. I can't wait to make it again. It is a recipe that is hard to stop eating.

The crust never really browned and then as I tried to spread the cream cheese layer, it totally crumbled the crust! I ended up having to just stir the crust into the cream cheese layer and then layered the others on top of that. The flavor of the crust was just a little weird - it really just ended up being more work than it was worth!

I grew up with this as a family favorite, but we always used pecans instead of almonds and sprinkled mini chocolate chips on top. Also, as a variation, we make it with coconut pudding mix and coconut sprinkled on top.

THIS RECIPE HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY FOR YEARS. WE HAVE CHANGED IT TO PECANS IN THE CRUST AND INSTEAD OF VANILLA PUDDING WE HAVE USED THE FUDGE PUDDING OR DEVILS CHOCOLATE OR WHITE CHOCOLATE. STILL A GREAT DESSERT AND WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE FOR YEARS TO COME!!!
