My family has always made potato salad like this without the dill pickle& just one stalk of celery.Everywhere I take this salad people love it,we don't mash or use alot of mustard this is the real way it should be made,we add one other small ingrediant that tops it off-just a dash of garlic salt & it's perfect.Glad to know we are not the only ones that make this type of salad! If you want a change (like the red potato Idea!) red sweet onion is also good in it.

This turned out great, left out the relish and added finely diced onion. To the poster below, German potato salad does not have a mayo base, this is normal american potato salad, will make again

I made this yesterday. It was easy to throw together with things you usually have on hand. I used 2 stalks (ribs) off the head of celery and it was just right. The blended flavors are delicious. I will definitely be keeping this one until I find one better. Its going with us for our 4th of July BBQ.

This is a wonderful recipe. Have made it before and planning on making again for the 4th. In response to last review: a stalk of celery is one rib. I think you were thinking of a one bunch instead of one stalk.

two stalks is way too much celery! four ribs of celery is more than enough. ended up making an additional crab salad to use up some of that extra celery!

We always called any potato salad with cubed potatoes "German Potato Salad. I consider real American Potato Salad to be made with mashed potatoes. The ingredients are fine otherwise.

I got this reciepe from Kraft several several years ago and I'm famous for this potatoe salad. Every gathering everyone wants me to bring the potatoe salad. When I'm dead and gone I'll still be known for this potatoe salad with my family.

I have tried to make potato salad in the past, but it was always bland. However, this recipe is fantastic and full of flavor! I like to add my potatoes to the other ingredients while they are still hot so that they really absorb the flavor of the dressing. I'm sure this will be a hit for our Father's Day party...if it makes it to the table!

I have made this recipe many times since discovering it several years ago & it's always a big hit! Definitely a "keeper"!
