Coconut-Pecan Filling and Frosting

This is, of course, the best reason to eat German chocolate cake. A sweet, caramely mix of coconut and pecans that can make you forget there's a whole dessert underneath it.

Truly a wonderful recipe. Not too sweet and really delicious. Very different from the every day frosting and so much better

I have been making this recipe for at least 10 years. It can be found inside Baker's German's sweet chocolate box. It is now and forever will be the family favorite. One comment of caution: Do not let the frosting mixture (egg yolks) get over 180 degrees as they will seperate.
