This pie is made for special days and people only! We never seem to get ten servings out ot it, before it's gone!

I made two of these pies for Christmas dinner with my family, and they were both gone by the middle of the second day. It's a rich pie, but no true chocolate lover will mind!

This was a big hit! Everyone raved about it. Decadent is definitely the key word as it is very rich. When I added the condensed milk, it made the chocolate mixture difficult to spread into the pie crust. Next time, I'll heat the milk too which should make it easier to spread.

One of my guests for dinner was gluten intolerant so instead of making a pie, I layered the filling in a glass trifle dish. I was the easiest thing I made for dinner but the dish everyone seemed to enjoy most. There was not a drop left and there were only five of us there. Also, I made a mistake with the bottom layer which turned out wonderful. I couldn't find semi-sweet chocolate so I used German and the size of the chocolate squares must be different. The bottom layer was very soft and formed more of a rich, thick, chocolate syrup. Everyone loved it and said to make the same mistake next time.

The very bottom chocolate layer was good, but when chilled it was too hard to bite into. The pudding layer...boring!!! Maybe a homemade very chocolatey lpudding ayer would be better, but not the chocolate pudding I bought which was a chocolate fudge...which I thought would be a really good chocolate...boring!!!

I made this pie at Christmas for an easy dessert and my family and I fell in love with it! Very easy to put together with no cooking time, and it's so good! The semi-sweet baking chocolate in the base makes it rich and the pudding & whip cream keep it light. This is a versatile dessert too because you can substitute the crust for a chocolate graham cracker one or use fat free pudding and whip cream to cut some calories. It's now a much requested favorite at my house.
