What could be better than mud pie? Three layers of it. Dense chocolate and pecans topped with creamy pudding and COOL WHIP satisfy the tallest dessert order.

What You Need

oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted

1/4

cup canned sweetened condensed milk

OREO Pie Crust (6 oz.)

1/2

cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans, toasted

pkg. (3.9 oz. each) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding

cups cold 2% milk

tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided

Enjoy serving MAXWELL HOUSE coffee with this delicious recipe.

Make It

MIX chocolate and condensed milk; pour into crust. Sprinkle with nuts.

BEAT pudding mixes and 2% milk with whisk 2 min.; spoon 1-1/2 cups over nuts. Stir half the COOL WHIP into remaining pudding; spread over pudding layer in crust.

TOP with remaining COOL WHIP. Refrigerate 3 hours.

How to Toast Nuts

Heat oven to 350°F. Spread nuts in single layer in shallow pan. Bake 5 to 7 min. or until lightly toasted, stirring occasionally.

Variation

Prepare using BAKER'S Bittersweet Chocolate, increasing the sweetened condensed milk to 1/2 cup and substituting PLANTERS COCKTAIL Peanuts for the toasted pecans.

Very yummie !!!! I had alot of trouble with the crust. I had to make it, so pooring the chocolate-cond.milk combo was a nightmare... the crust was falling apart. Otherwise both times I have made it everybody loves it.... mess and all. The nice thing is that it is usually REALLY easy & quick!!!!! YUMMIE!!!!!!!!!

My family LOVES this dessert. It is absolutely delicious and so easy to make! I can't say enough about this pie. Try making a white chocolate version, using white chocolate JELL-O pudding and white baking chocolate. I did, and it absolutely fabulous!

Unfortunately, I do not agree with most of the previous ratings. This pie was average at best and not worth serving to guests. I would not keep this in my collection of dessert recipes.

This is probably the best chocolate pie ever! My husband loves it, he doesnt like nuts in his desserts so, I subbed oreo cookies for the nuts!

I got so many compliments on this recipe, everyone either wanted it or said make it every time we're over. My daughter-in-law said this was her new birthday request instead of a cake.

This pie was a big hit at a family get-together. Everyone loved it. It is a rich dessert so don't let your eyes be bigger than your stomachs. It turned out beautifully and was delicious.

Our family members are all chocolate lovers, and this pie satisfied every person. I will make two pies the next time, because you really want to eat more than "Just One slice"

This pie really didn't turn out for me. The pudding was too runny and the chocolate was too thick, making it really hard to cut. It tasted delicious, but it was a complete mess.

This is the best! I've made it twice now and each time has went like crazy! When its hot keep in a cool place melts extremly fast!! Still good though would make again
