What You Need

pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Unsweetened Chocolate (10 oz.), divided

cups MIRACLE WHIP Dressing

2-1/4

cups packed brown sugar

2-1/2

tsp. vanilla, divided

eggs

cups flour

tsp. baking soda

1/4

tsp. salt

cup boiling water

1/4

cup butter or margarine, softened

cups powdered sugar

2/3

cup milk

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

MELT 6 oz. chocolate as directed on package; cool. Meanwhile, beat dressing, brown sugar and 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla in large bowl with mixer until blended. Beat in eggs and melted chocolate. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to chocolate mixture alternately with water, mixing well after each addition.

POUR into 2 parchment paper-lined 9-inch round pans sprayed with cooking spray.

BAKE 30 to 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. Cool 10 min.; remove from pans. Immediately remove parchment paper. Cool cakes completely on wire racks.

MEANWHILE, microwave remaining chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 to 1-1/2 min. or until butter is completely melted, stirring every 30 sec. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cool.

ADD powdered sugar, milk and remaining vanilla to butter mixture; beat until blended. Use to fill and frost cake layers.

I have made this recipe three times and it never fails. It is definitely a crowd-pleaser and so easy to make! It tastes wonderful! I'm not even a big fan of chocolate cake and I love this!

I baked this chocolate cake, along with the chocolate frosting over the weekend. I must say it was easy and a joy to bake. The chocolate cake came out the oven nice and fluffy. This is a nice lite chocolate cake with lite/smooth frosting. I will definitely bake this cake again.

Very milk chocolatety! I made this for a co-workers' b-day & she loved it! But others thought it was a bit heavy..........I loved it too, soooo I'd definately make again for my family!

I made this cake for a church fellowship, instead of the chocolate frosting i made a homemade peanut butter frosting,it was excellent evreyone loved it.It was a Big Hit..

This cake is super easy to make and everyone loves it!!! The icing recipe is also easy to play with... I've made it with peanut butter instead of chocolate for a peanut butter and chocolate cake and everyone loved it!
