PHILADELPHIA New York Cheesecake Bars

PHILADELPHIA New York Cheesecake Bars recipe
New York may be the Big Apple, but when it comes to the city's iconic cheesecake, cherries rule the day. True to its heritage, the filling is super-dense and rich.

My family loves this cheesecake and they think I worked all day. I am now the official cheesecake maker. Mmm Mmm good.
over 30 years of making this recipe and it is GREAT! Without exception, if they like cheese cake, this one is "... the best they have ever had!!" Sometimes I add cocoa to make a chocolate version or reserve a quarter of the batter to add some cocoa to then "marblize" the basic cake. Pineapple, blueberries or strawberries fresh or in a sugar syrup, FANTASTICO!!
Very easy and delicious. We like it with blueberry topping.Stawberry good too. Great for a large group.*****
I served this with my New Years Eve party and everyone just loved it! I even was asked to give the recipe out! Would highly recommend this. Does take a little time to make but worth it.
This is the best cheesecake! Very easy to make. I HAVE to make this for my husband every holiday!
didn't crack, very impressed I was! This tasted like it came from a top notch restaurant.
There is a huge mistake in this recipe - it will not be cooked in 40 minutes. It will take at least one hour - and next time I will cook it at 350. It is really tasty and really easy - people love it! Make sure you cook it long enough though
@Bobanan- Did you use 6 sheets (4 crackers per sheet) or 6 individual crackers? The recipes also indicates that you should have a total of 1 cup of crumbs, so no matter how many crackers, use as many as needed to make 1 cup. Hope your next one turns out better!
Am I the only one who had an issue with the crust? There was absolutely no way that 6 graham crackers, 3 tbsp of butter and of sugar together could possibly stretch across the bottom of my 9 x 13 in. pan. The crust was awful. Re-read the recipe over and over again, and we just couldn't figure how there were also no reviews that said anything about it. Otherwise, the filling was delicious, but the crust, we had to add more and it still got soggy on the bottom even after baking 10 min. Just don't get the crust.
