PHILADELPHIA New York Cheesecake Bars

PHILADELPHIA New York Cheesecake Bars recipe
New York may be the Big Apple, but when it comes to the city's iconic cheesecake, cherries rule the day. True to its heritage, the filling is super-dense and rich.

I've made this cheesecake twice now. Once in a springform pan and once in a 9 x 13 cake pan. It came out better in the cake pan, but tasted great both times. I used blueberry pie topping instead of cherry and it was great. I will definitely make this again!

The cooking temp and time in this recipe is WRONG and will NOT cook the cheesecake enough. It needs to be cooked at 350 for 1 hour. I have made this cheesecake over 100 time and sometime in the last year, they changed this recipe. Please be aware of this so you don't waste a cheesecake like I did!

I made this for family gathering a couple of times. There was not a piece left over each time that I made this and I got very good feedback.

I switched this to a 9" spring form pan instead of the 9X13 pan. Was great tasting, though the cherries were too tart. Either try different brand of cherries or use different topping such as strawberries. Also mine cracked, a full water bath would be needed for the springform pan.

I tried several different cheesecake recipes and this is by far the best tasting! I made it in a 9 inch springform pan and everyone loved it. A must have recipe for any cheesecake lover!
