What You Need

lb. ground beef

1/4

cup finely chopped onions

can (20 oz.) pineapple chunks, drained

pkg. (16 oz.) OSCAR MAYER Wieners, cut into 1-inch lengths

jar (12 oz.) apricot preserves

cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce

Make It

MIX meat and onions; shape into 24 meatballs, using about 1 Tbsp. meat mixture for each.

COOK in large skillet on medium heat 15 to 20 min. or until evenly browned and done (160ºF), turning after 10 min.; drain.

ADD remaining ingredients; simmer 5 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Serve on frilled toothpicks, if desired.

Substitute

Prepare using peach preserves.

Special Extra

Add 1 chopped tomato with the remaining ingredients.

Shortcut

When making meatballs, use a small ice cream scoop with a release mechanism to shape the meat instead of your hands. Just spray the inside of the scoop with cooking spray, then use it to shape the meat into balls. By not using your hands, you are decreasing the chance of spreading bacteria from the raw meat to your work area.

I used smoked polish which gave it a little more kick..It was very tasty and was gone within minutes..You can't just eat 3 pcs..!

I accidently used the Spicy BBQ but it turned out great! My husband brought the leftovers to work and now all the guys are requesting that I make a double batch for the christmas party!

I made this for a group of very finicky eaters, it went over very well. I received numerous requests for the recipe. I will definitely make this again.

I made this for my work potluck, and put some aside for my husband and 4 year old daughter to try. Not only did my co-workers love it , but so did my husband and daughter. It might just be an appetizer, but I've made for dinner twice because thay love it so much

WOW! I used home style meatballs from the freezer, 2 packs of beef lil smokies and increased the sauce by 1/2 because I have a little larger crock pot. Set it up with tooth picks and it was a hit at our 4th of July block party. Took only a little bit home so we could nibble on it later! This is a must try.
