This was a great, hearty soup. I served it at a dinner party and my guests loved it!! I substituted imitation crab meat for the fish. It was incredible and not too hard to make. Doubling the recipe yielded nine bowls of soup and very happy guests!

what a great recipe!! I decided to use it for our annual Chowder-fest & won 3rd place!! Thank-you! I opted to add shrimp, chopped clams, crabmeat, & haddock. I like thick hearty chowders:). Hopefully I can find another winner next year!!! YUMMY!

It was very good, maybe try chicken broth instead of water for more flavor.
