Broccoli Rice Casserole

When kids who aren't big on veggies tell you they love this, it's a winner. Cheesy and yummy all mixed up with rice under a crunchy bread topping. Likewise for grown-ups.

What You Need

1/2

cup chopped onion

Tbsp. butter or margarine, divided

cups cooked rice

can (10-3/4 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup

pkg. (10 oz.) frozen chopped broccoli, cooked, well drained

cup CHEEZ WHIZ Cheese Dip

cup fresh bread cubes

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Cook and stir onion in 1 Tbsp. of the butter in large skillet on medium heat until tender.

ADD rice, soup, broccoli and CHEEZ WHIZ; mix lightly. Spoon into 1-1/2-qt. casserole. Toss together remaining 1 Tbsp. butter, melted, and bread cubes; sprinkle over casserole.

BAKE 30 to 35 min. or until heated through.

Serve this side dish with a lean cut of cooked meat, fish or poultry and a mixed green salad tossed with your favorite KRAFT Light Dressing.

Garnish with green onion slices and red pepper strips.

Everyone loves this dish at Thanksgiving. family request it. I also use cream of chicken ,instead of cream of mushroom. We all love it.

Instead of the Kraft Cheez Whiz Try a Kraft brand Queso Cheese Sauce for an American south-western flair. A very tasty recipe you will need an opposing flavour for the Entree'!

This recipe is so quick and inexpensive to make. It taste even better the next day. I have made it several times and once I even put in some left over chicken breast.

I made this dish with brown rice and we loved it! My husband ate 3/4 of the dish, I did not have mushroom soup so I used cream of brocoli. excellent. I will make it again.

I have made broccoli rice casseroles before but with shredded cheese but this way is so much better. It was really good.

Best broccoli & rice casserole I have eaten. Made it once and now have to make it when we all get together. Delicious and a wonderful side dish - goes with most everything.
