Bacon & Baked Potato Soup recipe

On top of the heartwarming tastiness of hearty potato soup, we added crumbly bacon, shredded cheese, green onions and sour cream. A sure soup-hall-of-fame inductee.

Really was simple to make! Had never made a potato soup before, but LOVED eating them in restaurants. Since restaurant style was all I had before-I was skeptical. I read all the other comments and followed some advice. Used Half&Half instead of milk, forgot the celery and added a little flour to thicken. It was Fantastic and very comparable to restuarant sytle! TWO Thumbs UP!!

Very good and easy. I microd the potatoes. Could be doubled very easily.

I have made this a few times, it is very filling and tasty! My family loves it. We top it with everything you would put on a baked potatoe

Quite possibly the best soup I've ever had. 5 stars!

What a delicious soup. Had to change it a little. For one I microwaved my potatoes and put in 3 instead of 2. I also put cheese and sour cream directly into my soup the last 2 mins. or so. Mine came out nice and thick and extremely flavorful. This will stay in our winter rotation.

Loved this. I don't think I baked my potatoes long enough because they were too hard to mash with a spoon. I ended up leaving them in small chunks. Still delicious though. I used some whipping cream instead of milk to make it extra thick (and I'm sure much more fattening!) :)

I add flour in the beginning when I'm cooking the onions and butter. It makes it a little thicker

This is so yummy! Children love it! You can make this with stewed potatoes also...tried it and it was just as great.
