What You Need

cans (8 oz. each) pineapple slices in juice, undrained

cup packed brown sugar

1/3

cup butter or margarine, melted

maraschino cherries, halved

1/2

cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans

pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix

env. DREAM WHIP Whipped Topping Mix

cup cold water

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

DRAIN pineapple, reserving 2 Tbsp. juice; set aside. Mix sugar and butter in 13x9-inch pan. Arrange pineapple slices in pan, cutting if necessary to fit. Place cherry half, cut-side up, in center of each slice. Sprinkle with reserved pineapple juice, then nuts.

BEAT remaining ingredients with mixer until blended; pour over ingredients in pan.

BAKE 50 to 55 min. or until top springs back when lightly pressed; cool in pan 10 min. Invert cake onto plate. (Do not remove pan.) Let stand 1 min.; remove pan. Serve cake warm or cooled.

Excellent! Replaced water with juice from pineapples, added 1/4 c. more brown sugar, added crushed pineapples to the batter. Super moist and very tasty!

This cake was awesome. I did take the other raters advice and use the reserved pineapple jucie instead of water. My husband doesn't like pineapples but ate over half the cake. Thank you Kraft foods for all the wonderful receipes.

I made them in little bundt pans o the turned out to be individual pineapple upside down cakes- they were great. My family loved having their own cakes.

I used the pineapple juice instead of water, plus I added a can of Crushed Pineapple to the cake. It was so moist and juicy. Everyone loved it.

I made this yesterday for my mom's birthday cake. It came out looking really pretty, but it tasted a bit bland to me. The cake was pretty dry, but that was probably my fault for cooking it too long on convection. The juicyness of the pineapples did compliment the dryness of the cake well, though. All in all a cake, but I probably won't make it again.

This was a huge crowd pleaser! And to top it off, I found it a very easy recipe. One thing, don't open all 3 cans of pineapples in the beginning, I only needed 1 and 1/2 cans...

My husband loves this cake. I don't know how many time already bake this cake. It's easy, tasty and very easy to do.
