What You Need

2-1/4

cups flour

1-1/2

tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder

1/2

tsp. baking soda

pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/4

cup butter, softened

cup sugar

cup mashed fully ripe bananas (about 3)

eggs

cup chopped PLANTERS Walnuts

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

MIX flour, baking powder and baking soda. Beat cream cheese, butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add bananas and eggs; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in nuts.

POUR into greased and floured 9x5-inch loaf pan.

BAKE 1 hour 10 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 min.; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely.

Prepare as directed, substituting 4 oz. chopped BAKERS Semi-Sweet Chocolate for the nuts.

Substitute

Prepare using PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese.

How to Soften Cream Cheese

Place completely unwrapped package of cream cheese in microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 10 sec. or just until softened. Add 15 sec. for each additional package of cream cheese.

The best banana bread I've ever had... so great, I've even had a proposal from my co-worker! I've made it with and without the nuts and personally, I think it's more moist without. LOVE THIS RECIPE!!

My husband took this to his office. Everyone loved it. I added 1 tsp. of vanilla and added chocolate chips. Tastes great. Will definitely make this again.

I've been searching for a long time for a good banana bread recipe. This is absolutly delicious. I followed the recipe exactly, except I toasted the walnuts before adding to the recipe and I broke them up (bigger pieces), I didn't chop them. THE BEST!!!!

Definitely exceeds expectations. I added ground cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and a touch of allspice, reduced the nuts by half (I dont like the nuts, but left them in for everyone else) and added raisins to give it a holiday touch. Try oat flour (finly ground oats) instead of flour to dust your buttered pan.

This makes a wonderfully moist bread. For a bit of a change, I used strawberry flavored cream cheese instead of regular and added a 1/4 cup more banana. Everyone loved it!!!!

I agree that this is the best banana bread I've ever made. It is moist, has a beautiful crust, and makes a wonderful holiday gift. Its a big loaf. I'll definitely make this recipe again.

I made this recipe to take to work and everyone immediately mentioned how good and moist it is. I added some vanilla to the recipe however.
