What You Need

2-1/4

cups flour

1-1/2

tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder

1/2

tsp. baking soda

pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/4

cup butter, softened

cup sugar

cup mashed fully ripe bananas (about 3)

eggs

cup chopped PLANTERS Walnuts

Enjoy serving MAXWELL HOUSE coffee with this delicious recipe.

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

MIX flour, baking powder and baking soda. Beat cream cheese, butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add bananas and eggs; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in nuts.

POUR into greased and floured 9x5-inch loaf pan.

BAKE 1 hour 10 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 min.; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely.

Prepare using PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese.

How to Soften Cream Cheese

Place completely unwrapped package of cream cheese in microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 10 sec. or just until softened. Add 15 sec. for each additional package of cream cheese.

I add 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and I don't cook it as long. Very good.

I make this bread ALL the time! Everytime I visit my in laws they request that I bring "that wonderful banana nut bread". It is so easy and very delicious! I use 1/3 less fat cream cheese and pecans (I am from Louisiana) instead of walnuts. My oven is new so the bread is done between 1 hour and 1 hour 5 minutes. Any longer and the top (the best part!) starts to burn. I HIGHLY recommend this recipe to all!!!

This was very good. I did use two pans not one and cut down cooking time. Also used two cups flour and 1/4 cup oats. Also added 1 teaspoon cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg.

I made this for my sister and her husband. It was a hit. We all liked it. I will definitely make again, using 2 pans. It ran over in my oven with one pan.
