What You Need

1/4

cup butter or margarine

pkg. (10 oz.) JET-PUFFED Marshmallows

1/2

cup PLANTERS Creamy Peanut Butter

cups crisp rice cereal

cup PLANTERS Salted Peanuts

cup BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks

cup butterscotch chips

Make It

MICROWAVE butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 45 sec. or until melted. Add marshmallows; toss to coat. Microwave 1-1/2 min. or until marshmallows are completely melted, stirring after 45 sec.

STIR in peanut butter until blended. Add cereal and nuts; mix well. Press onto bottom of greased 13x9-inch pan.

MICROWAVE remaining ingredients in small microwaveable bowl 1 to 1-1/2 min. or until completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring every 30 sec. Pour over cereal mixture; spread to cover. Refrigerate 1 hour or until chocolate mixture is firm.

Melt butter in 3-qt. saucepan on low heat. Add marshmallows; stir until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended. Stir in peanut butter; remove from heat. Add cereal and nuts; mix well. Press firmly onto bottom of greased 13x9-inch pan. Cook remaining ingredients in saucepan on very low heat until completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring frequently. Pour over cereal; spread to cover. Refrigerate until chocolate mixture is firm.

I think my b/f was trying to eat the entire first batch on his own.. I had to make a second for his units party last Christmas.

I loved this recipe. Tasted just like I remembered from childhood! I basically kept it the same but added a tad more peanut butter than what the recipe called for. Turned out perfect and the kids gobbled them up!! Husband loved them so much he even made a batch to take to the hospital with him to share with all the nurses!!

These were great! I used crunchy peanut butter instead of extra peanuts and it was delicious!

Delicious! I used a store brand low sugar peanut butter that I hadn't tried before...it wasn't the best. Next time, I think I'll use crunchy peanut butter and omit the extra peanuts. I can't wait to make them again!!

I have made a variant of this recipe which calls for the extra step of actually layering the melted butterscotch and melted chocolate chips separately, with the chocolate as the top layer. The flavors of the two layers were therefore more distinct. This was worth the extra time it takes to harden the butterscotch layer in the frig before adding the chocolate layer. It is also prettier!
