So easy to throw together & my boys who never eat rice devoured it & asked for seconds! Definitely a winner & will make again. I also added the kidney beans as suggested by other reviewers. Yum!
This recipe is so quick and easy! The first time we made it we were shocked at how much flavor it had for so few ingredients. This is now one of our favorite dinner recipes and we make it a couple times a month!
Very easy to make. I didn't have the sausage or green pepper so I subsituted cooked ham and yellow & orange bell peppers. Then added frozen peas for something green. Looked very colorful. Will make again.
I was surprised with the taste of this dish! I thought because of the few ingredients, it wouldn't really be delicious for my kids to like. I was wrong! It was tasty, flavorful and delicious! I used mild sausage and omitted the crushed red pepper thinking it might be too hot for the kids. Somehow, I didn't think it needed the pepper once done. I used italian diced tomatoes. I didn't have the no-salt tomatoes on hand. I will definitely make it again.
so good and so easy!
We called it "Sausage & Slop" in our house growing up, but it's still one of my favorite recipes. Very versatile, fast, and easy.
We loved it, I used Ground (cayenne) red pepper and added pineapple tidbits.
My husband can't eat spicy foods so I subsituted Italian seasoning for the red pepper flakes. There was absolutely no flavor! Maybe the red pepper flakes would have made all the difference. I won't be making this recipe again.
Tastes like a very versatile recipe. I love how fast it was and how easy it'd be to add more to it to change the flavor around sometimes. I added shredded carrot in with the onions and no one could tell.
This dish tasted fantastic! It was super fast, easy, and cheap! Plus, it made great left-overs. I will be making this again... shortly! Also, I added kidney beans per someone else's idea and that is definately needed in the dish!
