Perhaps you needed to bake longer?

I followed the directions exactly but my pie never set up. It sat in my refrigerator for two days and was still not set. I have no idea what could have gone wrong - but I know it would have been amazing!

I made this pie for a church dinner and I followed the recipe exactly as it said. but when it was cut into it was still runny inside. Could someone tell me what I might have done wrong. I used an electric mixer, could that have been the problem, other than that, I don't know what went wrong. I kept it overnight in the fridge.

I was given this recipe years ago by my mother-in-law, who is the best cook I know. It is a favorite at our house and all who have been lucky enough to be around when I make it agree it is the BEST!

My mom used to make this pie when I was a child and now my sister and I make it for our own families. Everyone calls this German Chocolate Pie and I get rave reviews whenever I serve it. It's wonderful heated in the microwave for about 20 seconds and then topped with lots of real whipped cream.
