I've made this recipe but I used fresh green beans instead. I'm not a huge fan of the french. If this recipe called for fresh green beans, I would have rated it much higher because it's just so much better that way.

I'm going to try this recipe, but i was hoping to read if you can use FRESH beans with success. Has anyone ever tried it? What's better?

I've been making this recipe for years and never ever has "classic" green bean casserole called for a disgusting ingredient like Cheez Whiz! Gross! The recipe was just perfect as it was!

Recipe was ok. it didn't go over too well with my teens who usually eat everything. I added a can of mushrooms, but it still needed a little salt. It could have been better. I'm going to play around with the ingredients next time until I settle on something everyone enjoys.

When you don't like the ingrediants in a recipe.....why leave a review? This is something that people have been making and eating for years.....there must be something to it! It is a very good, and easy recipe.

I have seen this at some family dinners and I think that it is awful. It smells bad and I am sure that it would taste bad. Can't stand green beans and I never eat onions in any form. Yuck!
