Definitely add more food coloring to make it redder. Also beware of cake mix with pudding in the mix - mine cracked while frosting and I've never had that happen before. It still tasted delicious.

Oh my Gosh...Soo Good!! I added more red food coloring after I read the other persons comment and some chopped pecans! I will make this again!

My fiance, who is not a huge fan of cakes, loved it - and the icing! I just had hoped the cake came out redder. But it was very very good, and easy!

I made this cake for Christmas and my guest were not pleased. We expected a red velvet cake and it tasted like white cake. It was good just not what we were expecting.

The recipe was easy and the family enjoyed it. My only suggestion for the next time I will try Baker's sweetened chocolate.
