My 4 year old son loved this (minus the apples). I thought it would have tasted better without the syrup and prepared more like a regular sandwich with mayo or mustard.

I Loved the waffle apple-wich. My waffle was a little to thick. But over all very very good! The apples give the apple-wich just the right taste. I used sour apples. THUMBS UP!

I thought it was going to be really weird but when you dip it in the syrup you can't even taste the sandwich meat or cheese. It was really good and the apples gave it a cool taste.

I liked this recipe, but when you don't have ham use peanut butter and a touch of honey with apple, banana slices (or both for extra yummyness). Not only did my daughter like it, so did my husband!

This was DELICIOUS, after I modified it slightly. The first waffle-wich just didn't look like enough for an evening dinner, so I added 1 hard fried egg on top of the cheese before adding the smoked ham (5 deli slices, 2 oz.,) and the apple slices. While this was good, the next time I made this I used 1-1/2 slices of American Singles, one hard-fried egg, the same 5 slices of smoked ham, and a bit less apple. NOW IT WAS A DELICACY!!! Do slice the apples into uniformly thick slices or the sandwich becomes unstable. Also DO nuke it to warm the apples and melt the cheese. YUM, YUM.
