Classic Cheese Lasagna

The only meatless lasagna recipe you'll ever need, this one is authentically cheesy, saucy and melty. Ricotta filling, marinara and noodles add up to layers of flavor.

What You Need

container (32 oz.) POLLY-O Original Ricotta Cheese

cups POLLY-O Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, any variety, divided

1/2

cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese, divided

1/4

cup chopped fresh parsley

egg, lightly beaten

jar (26 oz.) spaghetti sauce

lasagna noodles, cooked, drained

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

MIX ricotta cheese, 2 cups mozzarella, 1/4 cup Parmesan, parsley and egg until well blended.

SPOON 3/4 cup spaghetti sauce onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish; top with 3 lasagna noodles and 1/3 of ricotta cheese mixture. Repeat layers of sauce, noodles and ricotta cheese mixture 2 times. Cover with remaining noodles and sauce. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.

BAKE 45 min. or until heated through. Let stand 15 min. before cutting to serve.

Make Ahead

Lasagna can be assembled ahead of time. Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours. When ready to serve, uncover and bake as directed.

Shortcut

Substitute no-boil lasagna noodles for the cooked lasagna noodles. Assemble lasagna as directed; cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 45 min. Uncover; bake 15 min. or until heated through.

Classic Lasagna with Meat

Cook 1/2 lb. each Italian sausage, with casing removed and ground beef until cooked through; drain. Assemble lasagna as directed, adding a layer of 1/3 of the meat mixture after each layer of the ricotta cheese mixture.

This lasagna turned out awesome. I made it for my b/f and I, and it turned out 6 or 7 ppl came over that night and ate it too; we all loved it.

I used no-cook lasagna noodles, much easier and makes no difference to the taste. Excellent

It's nutritious and preferred by the kids. They love to ask me to bake some more during my free time. I love pasta and vegetables so I experiment some recipe adding them so it tastes better.

Omit the spaghetti sauce and it makes an excellent vegie lasagna. However, a tiny bit of salt needs to be added to enhance the flavor. Additionally, a thin layer of munster cheese on top makes it brown nicely.
