Very easy to make. Family loved it for the holiday. I didn't care for the cream cheese frosting. It was easy to work with and make, but was a bit bitter for my liking. I added vanilla for more flavor. May use more powder sugar next time as well. But over all was a family hit.
I like it with the variation of using cream cheese icing because the top layer always has a tendency to slide on me when I use cool whip
This recipe was easy and the cake was great, making it again soon!!
This recipe is the greatest recipe for this type of cake I have ever made! In looks and in taste! it is just great!
I've been making this cake for years and your recipe is weak compared to mine. Mine recipe is like fireworks and your is a bomb.
This cake is absolutely delicious and looks GREAT for any "color themed" occasion. I just made it for fourth of july after having made the christmas cake, and it was a HIT! There was not ONE piece left over. I did use the cream cheese frosting and decorated the top with fruits. YUMMY!
I like this decritive, patriotoc dessert. I think with a little more flavor such as vanilla extract or on the holidays almond extract this will be SUPERB! thank you very much for sharing this recipe with me. I think I have a very great idea for this dessert! thank you once again for this idea. I"ll tell you If it comes out great (of coures), happy holidays and be safe on your 4th of july!!
I made this recipe last 4th of July and EVERYBODY loved it! It was very easy and tasted great. I made it with the Cream Cheese frosting and I think that was much better. I am definitely making it again this year...YUM!
I was so nervous when I was pouring all the jello mix onto the cake, but it soaked right in and after refridgerating over night it was delicious. I used just strawberry jello and topped the cake off with fresh straberries. Everyone loved it and wanted more.
I don't know what I did wrong, but I tried this with a homemade cake recipe using the jell-o. The cake had wonderful flavor but so moist it was almost soggy. I will try again but next time I will just use one box of jell-0 for 2 layers.
