I LOVE this recipe! I made it last year for Thanksgiving and I plan on making it again this year. Its sweet and delicious.
It was the best cheese cake I tasted and love it,I will be making it for my doughters school bake sell.
i am a diabetic. i used sugar free oreos, found in most grocery stores. also used splendia. then all the cheese etc. were no fat or low fat. still tasted absolutely wonderful! babe
This tasted great, plus it made a huge amount - a whole 13x9 cake pan's worth! I'm already thinking of different ways I can make this next time, because you can do almost anything with or without the Oreos.
Very good, very rich. Made for Christmas. Family loved it. I'm not a big fan of Oreos but I liked it. Next time I may put the Oreo crumbles on just top instead of throughout so I can enjoy more of the cheesecake. A cook in StL, MO.
This came out perfectly, and was sooo delicious!
I would add more butter to the crust so the cookies stick together better.
This was a very good recipe but I made some modifications. I only used three packages of cream cheese but added 1/8 cup more sugar to the cheesecake batter. It seem much creamier that other cheesecakes. I also found that adding a half a stick more of butter to the crushed Oreos helped to bond the crumbs better. I liked this crust better than the store bought ones. Overall, this recipe is a keeper.
I'm sorry to be a Bitter Betty, but I will not spend a package of Oreos and four bars of creamed cheese on this recipe again. Don't get me wrong, I love Philly and always will, but this recipe is like a mouth full of nothing but Philly with a bit of chocolate. Perhaps a variation of this recipe would be good, but this one is not a repeat for this family. My apologies. Keep those ideas coming!
This is the easiest cheesecake to make - and everyone loves it! A hint though - add a little water to the bottom of a 1" deep sheet pan and wrap the springform pan with some heavy duty tin foil - Heat the over with the sheet pan with water in it, then add the cheesecake to the sheet pan. This helps prevent cracks - it will look like a bakery made it. It's a winner!
