Suggestions: Spread top of cake with strawberry jam before frosting with Cool Whip; use the new strawberry-flavored Cool Whip; Change flavors--use cherry jam, whip a bit of maraschino cherry juice into the Cool Whip, and decorate with maraschino cherries; use fresh mint leaves to make leaves for the fruit; if using jam, heat it to get a good spreading consistency; poke holes in the cake with a skewer, and pour juice or a liqueur of a complimentary flavor over the cake, and finish as normal.

great cake to make, would make it for a party also...light dessert to make, easy and fast for mom's on the go..

I make a dessert similar to this one. Only I take the angel food cake and dice it up and layer it with vanilla pudding (mixed with milk and cool whip) then I add fresh strawberries. you continue the layer process until the pudding mixture is last. The I garnish with a sliced strawberry.
