Mother's Little Angel Cake

Excellent desert, also great with raspberries. It is so easy to do and taste great too.

As a general rule, Angel Food Cake isn't worth cooking. It only has the flavor of what you add to it. Although strawberries and whip topping are a good topping, I'd much rather cook a flavor rich cake to add them too. No offense intended to those who enjoy angel food, try adding the strawberries or raspberries, or warm peach sauce to a rich home made chocolate cake or butter cake. More calories but more flavor.

I will be making this recipie for my mother on Mothers Day. It looks simple and easy to fix.

Try cutting the angel food cake into either a two or three layer cake. Spread cool whip & stawberries between the layers. Ice the sides and top with cool whip and put strawberries in the center. Refrigerate for l hour. Delicious.

I make something similar to this, only I cut the very top of the Angel food cake off like a lid - make a 1" X 1" crevious around the cake to fill with either cut up strawberries or chocolate moose - put the cake lid back on the top and frost with the chocolate or regular cool whip (top with the strawberries on either or chocolate shavings) It's easy, yummy and looks like you worked on it all day. Though I haven't prepared this recipe, it sounds like it would be a bit dry. I think it would be better if the berries were increased and sliced and sugared like in strawberry shortcake.

Absolutely disgusting. Would be OK with real whipped cream, though.
