This recipe had a great flavor to it, however I did find it had the consistency of an etouffee, not a gumbo. I live in Louisiana and I thought it did not have a gumbo flavor. The recipe was very delicious, but would not consider it a gumbo. Will make again though.
My family really enjoyed it! I would've liked for it to be a little more soupy so we could've had more liquid for the rice but my family loved it! I put half a package of sausage and all the shrimp in along with green beans. Will make this again!
If I did make this again I would use regular sausage and less of it but add more shrimp and leave out the okra.
This recipe was delicious made me feel like i was in the deep lousiana south.I would most certanily make it again and again.
Wow! Given the ease and speed of this one, I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. Definitely a keeper!
Great recipe, loved by the whole family. I used frozen bag of gumbo veggies conveniently found in my Super walmart-lucky me! I also added smoked sausage, shrimp and crawfish tails. This was my first attempt at gumbo and I'll definitely do it again!
This was a great tasting dish. I used frozen shrimp which was cooked and had the tails removed and added the shrimp at the end just long enough for it to heat through. My family including great-grandson (6) loved it. It's a definite keeper.
This was fantastic; just the right amount of spice. I used cajun andouille sausage (couldn't find the kind in the recipe) and would do that again. It was really easy to make, too. My husband loved it.
Fantastic! This recipe was fairly easy and we loved it! I plan on making this again real soon!
Living in the South and having had authentic Cajun cooking - this was as close to New Orleans as you can get! It was super easy! I followed the recipe exactly. Give yourself more prep time for the chopping. When you get ready to serve, spray a one cup measure with cooking spray and fill with rice. Turn cup over onto plate and spread gumbo around it. Picture perfect!
