I plan to serve this at our next FAMILY ('07) Christmas reunion of 45+ people - as an appetizer; using a crock pot to keep warm. Will puree less beans and add more onion. Will also offer cheese and hot sauce on the side. SUPER recipe.

I made this yesterday for lunch I doubled it so I could have some for supper when the kids come home from school. They have sporting events and work so we eat an early supper. I liked this so much that I went out that eveing and bought more cans of black beans so that I can make it again I have 3 Teenage boys who went for seconds. My older daughter liked it too It was so easy to prepare and I will make this again I cooked the beans and diced tomatoes with out putting them in the blender and used a hand blender right in the pot. I also used chicken broth We put tex mex chesee on top to serve

This soup was very good. I didn't make it exactly by the recipe but it still turned out great. I didn't add the italian dressing, instead I added a can of tomatoes with green chilis. I also added diced chicken to mine. I love black beans so I added an extra can. It was great.

This is a staple in our household, we use chx or beef broth instead of the water and I usually blend all of the beans, but that's just my preference. Tonight, we added some mexicorn (corn with red peppers), and it was great!

Doubled the amount of beans, and used beef broth instead of water. Put in a can of rotel tomatoes with green chilis. Used a cup and a half of rice and two packets of good seasons. Had the just amount of zing. Family loved it. Served with southwestern cornbread. MM MM GOOD

This is easy to make and healthy but needs a little more flavor. My blender broke as I was trying to make this, so I added the beans straight from the can!

This was excellent. I substitued chicken broth for water and added a small can of Rotel Green Chilies. I also sautéed the onions a little first in some olive oil and simmered everything for a few more minutes. Delicious! Would be even better with a bit of grated cheddar cheese on top!

This recipe was good, but I added chicken breast and made it superb! Instead of it just being a side dish, I made it a whole dinner!
