This is the best cake I ever made from a box. Almost as good as scratch. I buy the inexpensive store brand cake mix that doesn't require oil or have pudding added. The recipe will fill three 8 or 9 inch pans, (8 inch works a bit better) for a three layer cake. A 9 x 13 inch pan will make a sheet cake that gets good height. I wish the recipe would be printed on the Dream Whip box again, because I think it would be as popular now as it was 20 years ago.

I used a low fat Brownie mix, 5 egg whites instead of eggs and fat free milk to create very low fat brownies. I brought them to work and left with an empty plate. Everyone thought that they were wonderful. Use non-stick cooking spray as well.

Not as moist of a cake as would have liked. But it was good.

My mother had made the cake for us when we were kids and I made the cake for my kids and now for my grandkids. We all love it.

I have made the recipe many years ago when it was on the Dream Whip Box. It sure was nice to find an old friend again.
