This recipe is so light and fabulous! Not too tart and everyone always makes room for it at the end of a meal. Very good! Also tastes great with fresh cut strawberries!
Made this one for my husband's birthday. Instead of making it a two-layer cake, I made it as a 13 x 9 inch cake and just frosted it with the lemon frosting. It was a hit! I will definitely make it over and over again.
I made this for Thanksgiving along with pumpkin pie and another dessert for something a little lighter. Everyone raved about it!!! My husband really liked it and wants me to make it again, which I will....Very good and very easy!!
Mom & I made this for GrandPa's 80th birthday, only instead of the lemon pudding as icing we used meringue. It was REALLY great!
I did not have lemonade so I used limeade instead and did not ice it. My husband loved it and he says he only likes chocolate cake with no icing. So easy.
Everyone absolutely loves this cake. Such a cool and refreshing treat in the middle of summer. I make it for Fourth of July and Labor Day.
I made this cake because everyone was complaining that I always make the same thing..."chocolate,chocolate, chocolate !! only complaint now is that I don't make it often enough.
Overall, a good cake- as previous cooks have commented, it was very light and refreshing. The only mistake I made was allowing the cakes to sit in baking pans in the fridge after I had 'poked' them and poured in the jello. The jello and wetness of the cake ended up rusting my pans slightly and left a metallic flavor at the bottom of the cake. I was able to correct it, and everyone loved the recipe.. I would just make sure you only let the cake sit for the time allotted in the recipe! :)
This cake tastes great, moist and the topping is soooo good. I made it as a 9X13 instead of the 2 separate cakes. It turned out great. I would definately make the topping again for cakes using different kinds of pudding!
Simple, delicious, springtime fare, I made this for a get together and had to fight to get a piece to taste it! I am not to fond of lemon but this what great! A nice light dessert for cookouts.
