I made this several years ago. I used lemon and lime jello. The tart taste with the whip cream was so refreshing! Perfect Summer time treat.

Next time I make this cake, I will use only egg whites to make the cake batter whiter. I also used only one packet of jello divided between the 2 cake layers. I also used a straw to poke the holes in the cake layers.

This was an easy dessert to make. It turned out beautiful. It was a bit on the very tart side though, next time I think I will cut back a bit on the lime jello.

I made this for our Christmas dinner & thought it was fabulous! It was really moist and flavorful and it looked beautiful. My only problem was convincing the adults to try it. When I told them there was jello in it, the were turned off. It doesn't have the texture of jello at all though.

My family loved this cake. I made this for Christmas but I would make for any holiday just change colors like orange for Halloween just red for Valentine etc... I did use frosting instead of whip topping. It's easy to make and looks just as good as it takes.

This is a great cake, lighter thank regular cake. I love to make this cake at 4th of July. I use the berry blue jello and raspberry jello for the red and white cake mix for the red white and blue. Very versitle. A real show stopper. Thanks again

Very easy to make and it made a lasting impression on my guests! I will be sure to make it again this holiday season. You can use different colors/flavors for other occasions as well. Perfect for the non-chocoholics on your guest list.

I'm usually up for more sophisticated desserts, but my sister-in-law but me in charge of desserts for a party for mostly children. My mom recommended this recipe that was popular in the 60s. OMG -the kids loved it! I made lemon and lime and used Sprite as the cold water. It was really most and the kids thought it looked cool. I will make this for Christmas too.
