Irish Beef Stew

What You Need

1-1/2

lb. boneless beef round steak, trimmed, cut into bite-size pieces

Tbsp. flour

Tbsp. oil

large onion, coarsely chopped

can (14-1/2 oz.) beef broth

can (14-1/2 oz.) stewed tomatoes, undrained

env. (0.8 oz.) GOOD SEASONS Garlic & Herb Dressing Mix

lb. red potatoes (about 3), cut into 3/4-inch chunks

carrots, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices

cups hot cooked noodles

Make It

COAT meat with flour. Heat oil in Dutch oven or large deep skillet on medium-high heat. Add meat and onions; cook and stir 5 to 8 min. or until meat is evenly browned. Stir in broth, tomatoes and dressing mix. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally; cover. Simmer on low heat 15 min., stirring occasionally.

ADD potatoes and carrots; simmer, covered, 45 min. or until meat is tender and sauce is thickened, uncovering after 30 min. and stirring occasionally.

SERVE over noodles.

I have made this recipe multiple times. My family loves it. All ask for recipe when they try some. I make mine in crockpot. I brown beef and onions on stove and then finish in crockpot. Absolutely fantastic recipe in my opinion. So tasty for such easy ingredients.

My husband and I both really liked this one! :) It's not exactly a speedy recipe, but I'll definitely make it again. My husband even went back for seconds :)

This stew is AWESOME. I made it without the noodles because that seemed weird to me to put stew on noodles. I added cabbage because I love cooked cabbage. My husband absolutely loves it & my 2 year old eats it up.

So delicious and EASY! I bought stew meat, which was 80 cents cheaper per pound at the time, and it was already cut into chunks. Talk about easy! I was shocked at how tender the meat ended up after such a short cooking time. I added about 15 min to the covered cooking time, so my 45 min was actually an hour. We ate it over no-yolk egg noodles, and my family LOVED it!
