I made this last year for St. Patricks day dinner with a bunch of my friends and just recently they have asked me if i will make it again this year since they enjoyed it so much...it was a very easy recipe that I plan on making every year for St. Patricks day....excellent recipe!

Easy to make and quite tasty. I couldn't find the salad dressing mix so I substituted with Italian Seasoning. I also used a large can of stewed tomatoes, so had to thicken it with flour near the end. It was very filling served with noodles. Tomorrows leftovers I'll serve with fresh buns.

This is a very tasty meal, especially with a toss salad.

We really liked this stew. I realized after I started making it that I didn't have any noodles, so I just added one more can of stewed tomatoes and thickened the stew with cornstarch and just ate it as a regular stew. The flavoring is great. My husband didn't believe that I made it from scratch!

As a husband, that began to cook for the first time 2 days ago (due to my wife's failing health), I should note that the recipe is easy to prepare and brought a smile to my wife's face. (I think that was a good thing).

A "real" Irish stew is made with lamb not beef.
