Traditional Irish stew uses lamb, not beef. I prefer beef and this is a very good recipe.

I've made this recipe numerous times and love it! Even my 5 yr. old loves it and eats atleast 2 bowls of it himself! Its fast, easy and great on a cold day when you want something warm in your belly! I have recommended this to everyone who is looking for a good stew and will definetly be making this for years to come!

This is an easy fast recipe I added to our St. Patrick's Day meal about 3 years ago to get 2 of my sisters who hate corned beef to join the rest of our Irish family for dinner. It was a huge hit. I made a triple batch (as there are 27 of us total with spouses and kids). I had to make 6 batches every year since.

I didn't feel like there was enough flavor. I cooked it in a crock pot all day even though you didn't have to. Didn't use the noodles and leftovers tasted better because veggies soaked up some juice over night. If you don't like it try adding some cheddar cheese. It made it taste a little bit better.

This was really super! I didn't have the garlic and herb mix so I used a pkg. of dry onion soup mix and then added some garlic and herb no salt mix to it. Then I added frozen peas and corn in at the end and heated them up. I also left out the noodles; enough starch with the potatoes. My whole family ate it up!

This really is a good recipe. I've made it twice, just as the recipe is written. Second time we had it, we didn't even have it w/ noodles. It was enough on it's own w/ a salad and dinner roll.
