Irish Beef Stew

What You Need

1-1/2

lb. boneless beef round steak, trimmed, cut into bite-size pieces

Tbsp. flour

Tbsp. oil

large onion, coarsely chopped

can (14-1/2 oz.) beef broth

can (14-1/2 oz.) stewed tomatoes, undrained

env. (0.8 oz.) GOOD SEASONS Garlic & Herb Dressing Mix

lb. red potatoes (about 3), cut into 3/4-inch chunks

carrots, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices

cups hot cooked noodles

Make It

COAT meat with flour. Heat oil in Dutch oven or large deep skillet on medium-high heat. Add meat and onions; cook and stir 5 to 8 min. or until meat is evenly browned. Stir in broth, tomatoes and dressing mix. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally; cover. Simmer on low heat 15 min., stirring occasionally.

ADD potatoes and carrots; simmer, covered, 45 min. or until meat is tender and sauce is thickened, uncovering after 30 min. and stirring occasionally.

SERVE over noodles.

I made this for St Patrick's Day last year and everyone loved it. When I seen the holiday approaching on the calendar this year I knew I had to make it again. It's now our St Patty's Day tradition!

This recipe was delicious. My husband kept saying over and over how good it was. He even showed me how clean his bowl was when he finished. I added garlic powder to the flour before I coated the meat, and added more when I added the broth and tomatoes for more zip. We preferred it served with bread instead of noodles.

This was absolutely fabulous! I can't wait to make it again. My fiance and I loved it, it tasted just like the stew my grandmother used to make, and its so simple!

This one was great. My 8 month old granddaughter loved the broth. The rest of us finished it off in record time. This will be the only beef stew recipe in my recipe box. The others went in the garbage.

having visited Ireland I like the recipe which was made in Dublins rest Flanagans it was made with chicken broth was not as heavy as this one, or a light broth which I asume was chicken it was tasty and not so filling as this one thank You

It didn't make me feel any more Irish than I already am, but it was simply delicious. My wife gave me high compliments and darn, I forgot to tell her it was from Kraft Kitchens. Yeah right!! I left out the noodles, not too Irish to me, and served it on Garlic buttered Irish toast. Thank you very much.

Scandalised that youwould serve noodles - not very Irish! Leave out the tomatoes, use fresh herbs and serve with floury potatoes or ....frshly made flour & herb dumplings - devine.
