I made this pound cake with a sugar glaze on topfor for my 9yr b-day party... 3/39/08 it was excellent!! I could not believe how good it came out! my husband loved it, the kids ate it with icecream.. some came back for seconds!! Oh so easy to make... i did have to bake it for an additional 15min max!! thanks for the recipe.. im definitely making it again but for us only. :)
I made two of these for Thanksgiving and the top part of the cake burned before it was done in the middle. I ended up cutting the burnt part off and serviing it, but the cake was very dry and tasted too much like flour.
Turned out pretty good for a basic pound cake, don't overfill your pan. And the flavor was nice.
Was there something left out of the prep directions. Was I only supposed to use egg yolks. I followed to the tee and the cake went over the pan and then fell. What a mess.
Instructions are terrible and it lacked flavor. It was more like a sponge cake then a pound cake.
I made this for a get together at a friend's house and it did not turn out well. I was very embarrassed! I reviewed the ingredients and instructions to make sure I did not leave anything out. It was not moist as others have said. My husband did not like it at all!
Super Easy to make.... Make one every weekend now....

For the longest time, I have been looking for a recipe for pound cake that tasted like those found at my church. I have finally found it :). My first attempt was a little bad, due to the fact that I overfilled my pan, but even though the cake was not perfect, it was awesome and so good, and I look forward to my second attempt. Thank you Mildred for this awesome recipe, it is definitely a keeper. If you are looking for a delicious, easy to make cake, I recommend this one
