Great recipe, I didn't use coconut..I used red/blue sprinkles on some and left some white. I also used regular vanilla frosting. Big hit!!

i am going to make these in blue and white for the super bowl game! My daughter will love helping me with these! Also may put blue food coloring in the cake batter and use cream cheese frosting instead of cool whip since i have that on hand. I will be using a white cake batter, also have on hand, and like other comment made I will probably use coconut only white frosting if use at all.

These were a hit! Took them to a 4th of July party and everyone loved them. I only put the coconut in the white icing just in case someone didn't care for coconut. Other than that perfect recipe.

These were very festive for the Fourth of July. I am not a huge coconut fan, but they were good and the coconut taste was not overpowering.
