This is something that is so easy to make and the kids love. I also buy the hot dogs with the cheese already in the middle and wrap them in buttery garlic flavored crescent...read more

This is a classic so give it a little slack. And for those health conscious, be creative... use f/f hot dogs, f/f cheese etc.

This recipe is quick, easy and something my 2 1/2 year old can help make. She loves eating it, it is not messy (unless you count the mounds of ketchup she has to dip it into) and I can feed it to her pals as well. And as an aside--please--this is a recipe site sponsored by KRAFT--makers of pre-processed foods. If you're looking for completely healthy, low-fat, homemade options, perhaps this is not the right site for you...

I made this recipe several times for my 7 and 4 yr. olds. (boys) and they just love it..I will admit hot dogs are not a great meal, but once in a while is ok. I used all beef hot dogs and fat free hot dogs as well and I wraped some bacon on the outside and put it in the broiler for a little bit and the kids loved it.

This recipe is a good recipe when your in a pinch for time. I remember as a child eating these before our softball games in the summer. Currently though, I use ham, because my son prefers it. Try it this way!

I agree it may not be the most healthy meal a child could eat but when you have picky eaters who's favorite foods are hot dogs and cheese, it's a great combination! It's also quick and easy! Ideal meal for the babysitter to make in a pinch!

I made this recipe, and have to agree with the other comments. It is not what I'd like my children to eat. It tastes oily. The inside of the crescent rolls maintains some of the moisture from the wieners. Maybe when looking at the food pyramid you can argue all food groups are represented, and it is a good meal, but it does not pass my standard for healthy cuisine for children.

I'll give it a try, but it seems a little on the fat side. It looks good though.

This recipe does not seem to be very healthy choice for children. It may be simple to prepare, but as we teach our children about food I think it important to remember that we are also teaching them about nutrition. I think whenever possible, we should make healthy foods fun and have children participate in preparing healthy meals. four grapes and an orange slice garnish does not a healthy meal make!
