Bean Soup

Bean Soup recipe

Even folks who say they don't like lima beans tend to like this tasty soup. (Wonder if the bacon and turkey smoked sausage have anything to do with that?)

This is a wonderful meal to enjoy after having a fun filled day in the snow. I added a little rice, green pepper, a pinch or two of celery seed, fresh parsley, and made some biscuits on the side. Yummy for my tummy.

I used a short cut by using canned beans and instead of large limas, I used navy beans. Also put a little more sausage than the recipes called for. Loved it.

This was very good. I made it easier by putting everything (except the flour) in the crock pot and letting it cook all day, adding the sausage about an hour before I served. I think next time I will use ham instead of bacon because I wasn't wild about the texture of the bacon with the beans. I will definately make again.

This was an easy recipe to prepare. I added a little celery and one red potato (cubed). There was nothing left after dinner. It was very tasty. It is a great "stick to the ribs" recipe.

I used chicken broth instead of the water that was instructed AND I had a little Chipotle seasonings to spice it up a bit... I have made this twice since receiving this recipe online...

I would make this recipe again, but, with some changes. I would add another 2 slices of bacon, cut back to 20 oz. of frozen lima beans, and add a 1/2 pound of sausage. I will then see if I like it better than just "fair".

I sent this recipe to 4 people before I had gotten a chance to make it and we all loved it! Easy and fast and great with corn bread!
